Quick Intro

I'm starting this blog for two reasons:

1 - In my obsessive researching of breast hypoplasia and how it affects breastfeeding - or more importantly, HOW to breastfeed successfully with hypoplastic breasts - I'm disturbed at how little information is out there.

My hope is that anyone who comes across this blog (perhaps by Googling to find answers to their own problem) will find some helpful information here - maybe even a success story!

2 - I need to document how my breastfeeding efforts go every single day, so that I can look back and take comfort in the progess I've made - no matter how small.

During the first day's of my daughter's life, she was starving because I could barely produce 2 drops of milk.

4 weeks later, I've pumped .75 for the day - a HUGE achievement for me.

I need to be able to look at my progress when the daily depression sets in - seeing even a little bit of improvement is the only thing that gets me through another day.

Breastfeeding with a physical issue such as breast hypoplasia is extremely difficult and frustrating.

It is my sincere hope that one day, I'll be able to say that I'm exclusively breastfeeding my child - despite having everything stacked against me.
